Kalice Project, a collaboration with Auroral

In an effort to empower the community of Kalamos we started the initiative “Kalice Project”. A collaboration with AURORAL and supported by the EU’s Horizon 2020 initiative, Kalice blends cutting-edge technology with the Mediterranean ethos of sustainability and community. The project addresses critical challenges faced by remote island communities, focusing on healthcare and mobility. Through wearable health-monitoring devices and a fleet of eco-friendly e-bikes, Kalice empowers residents with smart solutions that improve well-being and promote sustainable living. Born from the insights of local residents, including a former doctor of Kalamos and a local resident with a background in engineering, Kalice is a testament to Pelagoo’s commitment to creating resilient, self-sustaining communities.

This project aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will be completed by the 28th of February, with plans for future expansion to other Mediterranean islands. We believe Kalice is just the beginning of a more connected, healthier, and sustainable future for island communities.
